Ganderbal, Jan 19 (KNO): Residents of Gamwari, Wakura, Dab and adjoining areas of Ganderbal said that all roads in the area have been widened but this very vital patch of around one kilometres was left out by the department. They said the stretch witnesses massive traffic gridlock due to the narrow width of the road. Locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that they brought this issue to the notice of higher ups several times who only gave verbal assurances for its widening. “Due to the narrowness of the road, sometimes patients get stuck in traffic jams on the road for hours,” a local said. The passenger vehicles have suffered damages due to narrowness of the road. “Our vehicles have incurred heavy damages due to dilapidated condition & narrowness of the road,” driver Rahil Ahmed told KNO. They requested higher ups particularly the DC Ganderbal to look into the matter at an earliest so that the road can be widened and people can heave a sigh of relief. When contacted Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal Tatheer Manzoor said we will check the facts and assured genuine grievances will be addressed soon—(KNO)
